Nusantara National Mosque is a landmark of national unity and religious harmony, designed to serve 61,000 people in Indonesia's newly established capital city.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Nusantara National Mosque, located in Indonesia’s new capital, IKN, is designed to accommodate up to 61,000 worshippers.

Its striking circular form symbolises national unity and religious harmony, reflecting the cultural values of Indonesian society. The mosque will be set within an artificial reservoir, enhancing both its exterior and interior appearance.

SCOPE OF WORK

TTW delivered Structural Engineering services for the project, supporting the:

  • Design of its distinctive architectural features, including a 70-metre-diameter twisted dome and a 99-metre-high minaret crafted from a steel-frame system.
  • Design of the floor system using a fully post-tensioned flat slab solution, an uncommon approach in Indonesia, to accelerate construction and meet the ambitious 2024 completion target.
